Training exercises and methods for developing the special strength of adult pole vaulters
Švec, Jan ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Jebavý, Radim (referee)
Title: Training means and methods for developing the special strength of adult pole vaulters Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a list of exercises used in the special strength training of pole vaulters. Another goal is their description for the best possible understanding of the exercise. Further, subsequent photo documentation for better orientation in the execution of the exercise. And the following description of the use of exercises in training. Methods: Information for the bachelor's thesis was obtained from special literature. Another important source of information was my own training and racing experience. Further consultations with pole vaulting experts. A selection of exercises from the literature and information from experts. Their subsequent photo shoot, photo editing and description. Results: I successfully created a list of exercises and discovered many new exercises that I can continue to use in my training. The exercises were simply described, and thanks to the photographic documentation, the exercises can be performed easily. Pole vaulter training
Pěkný, Marek ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
: Title: Pole vaulter training Objectives: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to appraise performance progress of pole vaulter and to compare different methods of different coaches. Methods: Data was obtained from training diaries of the pole vaulter. Subsequently, this data was arranged into graphs and charts and then was assessed by logic consideration. The main method of this bachelor thesis is method of quantitative analysis. Results: According to analysis of training data I found out that the performance of the pole vaulter was mainly influenced by the lack of speed and speed persistence training. Key words: Athletics, pole vault, training, analysis.
The most frequent causes of injuries in pole vault athletes and its prevention- a review
Suchelová, Nikola ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Backgrounds: Pole vault could be counted among the most frequently mentioned athletic disciplines in terms of injuries. In the recent past there have been done a number of changes of rules which have led to a reduction in the number of accidents. Objectives: The main objective of this study was to identify the most common causes of accidents and injuries in pole vault, to describe preventive measures that have already been carried out and to draw attention to the others which could be possible. Methods: This work provides a systematic review combined with practical experience. Four electronic databases - EBSCO, ScienceDirect, WoS, PubMed were used to obtain the relevant information. Conclusion: Although there have been made several significant changes of rules leading to better safety, it is still necessary to continue the discussion about further measures such as the obligation to wear a helmet or to insert a box padding which could limit the risk of injury in the pole vault even more. KEY WORDS: pole vault, athletics, injuries, causes, prevention
Muscle imbalances in pole vault athletes measured by TMG
Suchelová, Nikola ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Title: Muscle imbalances in pole vault athletes measured by TMG. Goal: The goal of this work was to choose endangered muscle groups and identify possible imbalances by using Tensiomyography machine (TMG 100) and define hypothesis about training pressure of pole vault on growth of muscle imbalances in selected muscle groups. Methods: This work is based on qualitative research. Specifically, six case studies were conducted, during which the importance was placed on discovering characteristic muscle imbalances, which could appear based on training pressure in pole vault. Tensiomyography machine (TMG 100) was used to measure muscle imbalances. Results: Six pole vaulters participated in this study. We found that training and competitive load of pole vault could create muscle asymmetry in muscles deltoideus anterior and trapezius superior. The training may influence also slows down contractions of biceps brachii muscle and another asymmetry on deltoideus anterior between both muscles. We found very low functional symmetry in elbow joint. Key Words: pole vault, athletics, muscle imbalances, TMG
Methodology of the measurement speed approach at jumping events
Wagner, Štěpán ; Feher, Jan (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Methodology of the measurement of the speed approach at jumping events Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to provide the methodology of measuring the approach speed using a radar, a camera and a photocell. It also aims to compare the individual devices for measuring the approach speed (the camera, the photocell, the radar) and to state their advantages and disadvantages. Last but not least, the thesis will define usage of data from measuring for the purposes of coaching practice. Methods: In my thesis I used the document analysis method. I used foreign publication as well as Czech literature as my sources. The foreign sources consisted mainly of specialized magazine articles or online publications focused on the topic of measuring the approach speed and the athletic event of jumping. As for the Czech literature, it comprised mainly of books about the athletic event of jumping. Gathered information was used during the experiment itself and during data assessment. Results: The difference among the individual devices can be clearly seen from the results, the recorded times differed by 0,01-0,02 s. The difference is noticeable even in the methodology of measuring and in data assessment. At the end, it was determined according to the coaching criteria, which device is the most suitable...
Analysis of a multi-cycle training the pole vault jumper
ŠEBKOVÁ, Matylda
This thesis deals with the analysis of Nikol Jiroutova's training diaries. This work draws on the diaries of training for the season 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Based on the data we evaluate training indicators, comparing indicators of individual seasons and find their influence on the development of performance. All results are presented in tables and graphs.
